...thing again where I want to be someone's friend so much I'm talking to them all the time and worrying I'm coming off as annoying.

Mental illness is bloody hard to live with sometimes.

That is all.

...back from The Gathering (an LT LARP event).

Hots

OOC

♣ Baking all of the cookies on Wednesday;
♣ Meeting so many great new people, especially the very extended chat that Dan and I had pre-battle on Sunday. "Did we just become best friends?" "Yes, I think we did."
♣ There being something immensely satisfying about attacking the Harts when you're monstering;
♣ LOVING camping; and
♣ Road trip games with Matt & Eddie.

IC - Friday

♣ Roleplaying being scared when the camp was attacked and Wynne getting brave very quickly. Not least because of Lawrence coming up behind her and making her jump.

IC - Saturday

♣ Feeling pretty big and clever when 32 of us went and got York back back from some pretty difficult monsters;
♣ Singing 'Danny Boy' round the camp fire - that will teach me to make a request;
♣ Generally campfire signing and drinking, such a wonderful atmosphere;
♣ The synergy that the faction seems to have and the ability to go from singing and drinking to defence of the camp with seemingly no transition period;
♣ Eddie telling a gribbly undead to just "PISS OFF!" - Wynne was very proud of her Duchess cousin!
♣ Being part of a team of healers in the Command Tent and learning very VERY fast how to deal with wounds; and
♣ Pinning Cupcake's badge to him whilst he was unconscious and then running off before he woke up.

IC - Sunday

♣ Helping the Dragons on the battlefield...and winning...despite us fighting uphill;
♣ Becoming Oathsworn!
♣ Getting persistantly attacked pre-going to the architect's prison and ending up only having 5 cards left when I entered the transport circle and still managing to come back from the mission with everyone alive.
♣ Having another wondeful campfire moment until someone ran in and said the ritual team had died. There followed one of the coolest moments ever. - Sweeping down to the guilds with about 20 people walking full pelt, in silence. Hearing "The Harts are here, they don't look happy." and no-one paying it any mind at all. Finding and hugging Greggsy and just waiting for news.
♣ Cara setting Wynne off:
Cara: "Do you know what's happened?"
Wynne: "Yes."
Cara: "So you know they died?"
Wynne: "Yes."
Cara: "And you know who was in the ritual circle?"
Wynne: "Yes."
Cara: "And you know he was there?"
Wynne: "Yes...*pause*...Cara do you need a hug?"
Cara: "No, I don't. Do you need a hug Wynne?"
Wynne: "No." *bursts into tears*

♣ Duncan making Wynne better when the guild was inundated with monsters:
Wynne: "I am at my absolute limit, I can't cope with any more of this."
Duncan: "Then find a new limit."

♣ Callow and Wynne alternating between furious anger, absolute sadness and drinking all of the booze all the while.
♣ Singing 'Health to the company and falling apart again at the lines 'Let us drink and be merry all grief to refrain, for we may and might never all meet here again.' and 'If ever we should meet again by land or by sea, I will always remember your kindness to me.'
♣ Scarlett telling Wynne to remember the anger, let it fuel her and let it out when it was needed.
♣ Attempting to say goodbye to Sath and completely failing. *Walks into Command Tent, spots he's still wearing his badge, walks straight out again."

IC - Monday

♣ Protecting the Queen when she was incognito on the battlefield
♣ The very last IC action being the entire faction saying the faction motto. - Gave me goosebumps.

Nots

♣ Being so nervous I was sick on Thursday and having to spend some time snapping the elastic band;
♣ Not being well enough to be IC all the time and having to nap every day; and
♣ Packing up the tent in the rain yesterday.

Overall though an absolutely awesome event and definitely a system that I'm going to go back to.

Unfortunately, I'm now feeling sick to my stomach again. Damn anxiety.

...like I've been on such an amazing journey these past few days.

The Youth are just fantastic, so insightful and interested it makes me pleased to be a part of it.

XLP did a showcase this evening and the talent from the young people was just astounding. I mean I know I was doing Rock School and writing poetry at their age but it was in a relatively 'safe' environment, not on stage, in a youth venue with hundreds of people I didn't kno (okay, maybe it was, but I don't think I fully appreciated how much it shaped me before [and how much it now must be shaping these young people]).

I am DEFINITELY going to look into Youthwork jobs.
